The server runs Forge 1.20.1. The BambiSMP launcher keeps the version and mod collection together, so the only difficult part is choosing where to put your first cottage.
It still feels like Minecraft: explore, mine, build, farm and fight when you feel like it. The extras are there to make your time more personal, not turn the world into a noisy minigame lobby.
